Well it is June 5th and I have had two shows this year. One in the Power and Light District and one in Topeka, the Mulvan Art show. Both were not very good for me. It seems like people want to buy until the see the price. I have checked with several other artist and they say my prices are fine. They have also told me not to lower them. It is a little disappointing, but then I remember the Lord is with me and he is guiding me. On my way to Topeka,Sunday.I was praying to the Lord and telling him how much I love him and that I trusted him in his decisions on what and where I should be going. That if I didn't sell anything, that I knew he was in control and had better things in mind. It gave me a sense of relief about it and to just enjoy. A woman came into my booth and asked if I had painted people. I said yes and showed her the Snail Race I had painted. After lots of conversation she asked if I would be interested in illustrating a book she was writing. I shook my head and said I didn't think I could do that. Then she told me that she was talking to a friend about it and didn't know where to find an illustrator and she suggest going to the art fair. They are both Christians and Mary works with mothers of preschoolers. Then we discussed several signs the our Lord had given each of us to meet. Sounds like my shows were not in vain. Next week I will be in the Olathe Art Show, in two more weeks will be in Colorado for some more shows. I hope that other reading this do not get discouraged when things are not going well. Take another look and keep going.
